Commenting on the appointment of new members to the Parades Commission TUV leader Jim Allister said:
“The appointment of new members to the Parades Commission will be met with scepticism by the Loyal Orders and rightly so.
“The primary issue isn’t the membership of the Commission but its existence. Continue Reading…
Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-
“In reality immunity is amnesty by another name.
“There are at least 3 reasons why it is unacceptable:
1. It brings further perversion and corruption to our criminal justice system. Within our, and any meaningful, criminal justice system there is no limitation period and no point when the long arm of the law cannot catch up with the criminal – as the murderer of John Proctor recently discovered. That is how it should be. There can be no “sell by” date on justice. We have already corrupted our criminal justice system enough through the early release scheme, without starting to hand out “Stay out of Jail” cards. Continue Reading…

Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:
“I welcome the fact that, after some prodding from myself, the Social Development Minister apologised to the DSD Committee. I do not, however, accept that the misinformation in letter was the result of anything other than calculated and deliberate.
“Did the Minister really need to read the Committee Hansard to find out who he had been meeting? Did he not check when the BBC asked him about the meeting? Did he not check when asked multiple questions from MLAs about the meeting?
“The truth is that the Minister ran out of road today. Continue Reading…

Commenting on the report of the Independent Working Group Examining Boxing in Ulster which was published today TUV leader Jim Allister said:
“While I fundamentally disagree with the contention of the Report that there is no need for a separate Northern Ireland Boxing Federation there is much in the report which I welcome. It is also clear that an objective analysis of the facts has concluded that there was substance to the complaints made by Sandy Row Boxing Club. Continue Reading…

Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:
“Gerry Adams’s claim that Chief Superintendent Harry Breen and Supt Bob Buchanan died because of a “laissez faire disregard for their own security” is utterly sickening.
“The Officers were murdered because bloodthirsty terrorists went out to gun them down. They were murdered because the Garda in Dundalk who they had been meeting tipped those terrorists off.
“Adams compounded the hurt and insult he inflicted when he told the Dail that the officers were “doing their duty as they saw it in the same way as IRA volunteers were doing their duty as they saw it”.
“There is NO parallel between the officers who went out that day to try and combat terror and the criminals who went out to murder the two officers who were betrayed by the Garda.”
